We have a "fake" Christmas tree this year too. Aidan calls it a twig, not a tree, because it is only 4 ft tall and we have it up on a table so Liam doesn't take the ornaments off and use them as footballs. Ya gotta make do!
It's okay Jay. I didn't have a "real" tree this year either. Actually, I haven't had one for the last couple X-mases. I can sympathize with you though. We can be two lonely deprived kids of real trees that smell of pine! Lol. :)
Lol! I just saw this, way after the fact, but I had to let you know there are real Christmas trees in Nairobi! But you're right... LOL... the fake ones are better... BUT THERE ARE REAL ONES! I promise! :) Great blog.
My spouse and I are moving to Nairobi next week and staying there for two years. We have been arguing and procrastinating whether to get a tree from here (Toronto area) or just wait and see what they have in Nairobi as they might even be cheaper. We are aware that they don't have real trees there so we wish to know if plastic trees are easy to find and if they come in different sizes and at what amount. Thanks
I was born in Nairobi Kenya and lived there for my first year. After that I lived in England for about three years. Then I went to the states for seven years and lived in Nairobi for about one and a half years.

Fake Christmas trees rule. At least that's what I think.

I never had a fake tree myself, but it's better than no tree. =:0
Happy New Year from Boston!!
Fake trees are definitely the way to go in Kenya. I've seen some "real" trees and they would make Charlie Brown cry!!
Jay, I like your blog.
